Student Leadership is one of the cornerstones of activities in the school. We deliberately and consciously nurture student leaders to prepare them for today’s and tomorrows’ leadership.
We believe that the students have a lot of potential that needs nurturing to bring out the best in them, involve them in the management of their own affairs and promote the culture of transparency in them at an early stage. For example, no use of inducements to bribe voters during students leaders campaigns for leadership positions, if found this leads to disqualification of a candidate.
We let the leaders experience real life political/management environment by making them go through interviews, campaigns and thereafter voting. We later on empower them by training them, holding monthly meetings and help them appraise their activities.
Our student leadership structure consists of two arms; the elected leaders (prefects) who carry on particular tasks e.g. Academics, sports, entertainment etc; then the appointed leaders (student Councillors) whose work is mainly to listen to students grievances and help solve or coordinate with administration, the Councillors also carry out peer counseling.
All in all, we train the leaders to be SERVANT LEADERS.
